Cape May County’s Only Corn Maze Takes Shape

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP – The Board of Agriculture and 4-H Livestock Committee are looking forward to an a-MAZE-ing fall.

The organizations are teaming up to create five–acres of fun at Lehner’s Farm and Nursery which includes the only corn maze in the county, tiny tyke hay maze, pumpkin patch and pumpkin decorating stations, refreshments and more.

County Board of Agriculture President Dave Van Vorst said the organization supports agriculture initiatives, local scholarships and 4-H leadership trips. Their major fundraiser is the chicken BBQ held annually during the 4-H Fair. As costs continue to rise, the organization investigated a new fundraiser to support 4-H programs.

“The idea of a corn maze was brought up, and we realized it would be the only one in the county and a missing piece of agri-tourism,” he said.

The Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is held at Lehner’s Farm and Nursery at 175 Route 47 South in Dias Creek. Dates are Saturday Oct. 10, Saturday and Sunday Oct. 17-18 and Saturday and Sunday Oct. 24-25. Times are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Prices are $5 per person and $20 for a family of five or more. Children under two are free. Visit www.cmc4h.com for more information.
