In our quest to find the County’s top mixologists, we made our first stop a Wildwood’s waterfront mainstay since 1956 – Urie’s Restaurant. Best known for its always-fresh catch, lively entertainment, and tropical vibes, Urie’s is also home to an exceptionally friendly staff. This week, we honor Lindsay – loyal Urie’s bartender – as our mixologist of the week. This season marks Lindsay’s eleventh summer with the Urie’s restaurant group, and she is more than happy to return. “It’s a fun, relaxed atmosphere here,” she states. “And you can’t beat the scenery.” Lindsay is, of course, referring to the panoramic views of the Wildwoods Yacht Basin that she enjoys daily from her station at the Urie’s deck bar. She has been tending this bar since the summer of 2008, when she first began training for lunch shift service.
Born and raised in Dennis Township, Lindsay still resides there today and commutes to Vineland in the off-season where she works as a 7th grade math teacher. But in the summer months, you can find Lindsay here at the Urie’s deck bar for the dinner shift where she absolutely loves “all the cool people I get to meet and the interesting stories I hear.” When asked for her personal recommendation for a Urie’s signature, Lindsay sticks with the classics – the Urie’s Rum Runner or Voodoo Bucket. Made with four different flavors of Cruzan Rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, cranberry juice and then topped off with dark rum, the Voodoo Bucket is a sweet escape for two. And when she’s off the clock and not mixing one of these up, Lindsay likes to hit the beach, shop, and hang out with friends. Lindsay and the Urie’s staff invite you to come join the fun and take the edge off this summer season at daily Happy Hour from 2 to 4 p.m. with $2 drafts and half-price apps.
