This week’s featured mixologist might be a familiar face to those who enjoy a night out in Cape May. Noreen Cicero comes to us from the all new Bare Foot Bar & Restaurant at the Marquis de Lafayette Hotel, but previously bartended at the Schooner American at the Lobster House for three years and Cabanas for 10. Needless to say, she is no stranger to Cape May and is very connected in the community.
Originally from Kingston, Pa., not too far from Scranton, Noreen moved to the Cape May area 13 years ago due to a family business. She now lives here full-time, currently attending nursing school and working at the Marquis year round. Noreen started working at the Marquis in March 2016, and since then has been heavily involved in the development of the Bare Foot Bar. She has helped with the set-up, design and presentation of the bar, drinks, menu and other products. In fact, she created one of the bar’s signature drinks, Sunset Celebration.
When we asked Noreen what her favorite part about working at the Bare Foot Bar is, she responded, “Definitely being on the beach and outside, and getting to work with an amazing staff.” Her favorite drink at the Bare Foot Bar is, of course, her very own Sunset Celebration, a sweet blend of summer fruit flavors and rum.
When Noreen isn’t serving up drinks behind the bar, she enjoys spending time at the beach, relaxing, shopping and challenging herself to learn – she seeks out new knowledge every day!
“I’m very excited about being a part of the Marquis, creating something new and establishing a name for the Bare Foot Bar,” said Noreen.
Noreen would like to thank Joe, the Marquis’ chief engineer, for all of his help with the Bare Foot Bar – it would not be what it is now without him!
You can visit Noreen at the brand new Bare Foot Bar & Restaurant at the Marquis de Lafayette Hotel, situated on Beach Avenue in the middle of the sights and sounds of Cape May with public access from the street. Happy Hour is from 4 to 7 p.m. daily and features $5 crushes, $2.50 domestics, $3 imports and $5 drafts. Enjoy live entertainment four times a week, featuring bands, DJs and games like Name That Tune, and on weekends, pair your cool cocktail or glass of beer with food specials! On Fourth of July, the Bare Foot Bar will host a luau with hula dancers, entertainment, a special luau menu and more. Plus, it’s the perfect vantage point to view Cape May’s fireworks!
