Morey’s Piers is celebrating 50 years on the Wildwood Boardwalk with fun festivities, new attractions, and family-friendly events all summer long! The classic seaside amusement park, which has been family owned and operated since 1969, is a Wildwood staple, complete with three piers of water parks, rides, dining, shopping, and so much more. Morey’s continues to expand every year, with their 50th season turning out to be bigger and better than ever!
On July 2, Morey’s hosted the official grand opening for a brand new family-friendly roller coaster, the Runaway Tram. Located on Surfside Pier, the coaster pays homage to the iconic Wildwood Sightseer Tramcar, which has been traveling the Wildwood Boardwalk for nearly 70 years. The Runaway Tram climbs 40 feet in the air, then twists and turns riders down the tracks at 30 miles per hour. The exhilarating ride is fun for the whole family, so prepare to get back in line to ride it over and over again! Not a fan of roller coasters? Boardwalk game enthusiasts can try a few of the new games available this year, including Jump Shot, Can Crush, or The Strongman Challenge.
For even more fun on the Boardwalk, Morey’s launched the Funner Summer Challenge, which offers guests a series of conquests to complete in order to win prizes throughout the summer! If you’re in the mood for live music, you’ll want to check out The Summer Concert Series at PigDog Beach Bar! Enjoy barbeque classics, cocktails, local beer on tap, and beach games during the concerts, which take place every Saturday in July from 5-8 p.m. The fun continues this weekend on July 13 with music from The Beat Tells, a Beatle’s tribute band. On July 20, Aftershock takes the stage with a high energy performance of yesterday’s classics and today’s hits. On July 27, come out to see The Benderz play classic covers to wrap up the 2019 Summer Concert Series.
