5 Ways to Do The Shore This Weekend: June 17-19

1. Jeep Beach Invasion
Friday, June 17 at 5 p.m., Fox Park, Burk & Ocean Aves., Wildwood
Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 at 9 a.m., Schellenger Ave. Beach, Wildwood
Over 700 Jeeps of all makes and models will invade the Wildwoods Beach between Lincoln and Spencer Avenues. The event kicks off Friday night at Fox Park on Ocean Avenue across from the Wildwoods Convention Center starting at 5 p.m. with Jeeps on display, live music, a beer garden, food trucks and lots of vendors. Saturday is a ‘Show & Shine’ on the beach at Schellenger Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., which will feature the latest and greatest Jeeps, followed by obstacle course challenges at 1 p.m. and an awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m. The obstacle course re-opens on Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon and will feature a jungle themed beach parade at 10 a.m. The event is FREE for the public to attend; registration fee for Jeep participants. 2. Military Timeline Weekend

3. Skimmer Festival 2016
Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 at 9 a.m.
Sea Isle City
The festival includes a seaside craft market with 400 vendors, food court, live music, amusement rides and children’s activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at JFK Blvd. & Promenade. Event is free! On Saturday night at Excursion Park from 6 to 9 p.m., there will be a Skimmer Family Dance Party which will include popular dance songs that will delight young and old alike. The festival’s amusement rides will also be available on Saturday evening for a small fee. The festival will continue on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, with an Antique Auto Show along the Promenade north of JFK Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. While history-buffs and car-enthusiasts are enjoying the many vehicles entered in the Auto Show, The Snake Brothers Band will fill the air with lively music on the Promenade at JFK Blvd. between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. At 1 p.m. on Sunday, Mayor Leonard Desiderio will present trophies to the winners of the Antique Auto Show. Then, each of the vehicles entered in the show will cruise along Pleasure and Landis Avenues during the festival’s annual Antique Auto Parade – which will bring this year’s Skimmer Weekend to a spectacular close. 4. 7th Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Maritime Festival

Hereford Inlet Lighthouse, 111 N. Central Ave., North Wildwood
The Festival is a celebration of South Jersey’s rich maritime history and features artists, crafters, food, music, authors, historians, museums and tours of the historic Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. Rain or shine. Admission to the festival is free. There is a $6 adult and $3 child admission to tour the lighthouse.
