5 Ways to Do The Shore This Weekend: April 8-10

1. Autism Awareness Walk
Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m.
The Soar Church, 1324 Dehirsch Ave., Woodbine
Help us support autism by making a pledge to walk in our walk-a-thon. Or, you can support a participant by placing your pledge with them. The proceeds from this event support Ocean Academy and Woodbine Elementary School. The event will start at the SOAR Church and continue on the walk/bike path in Woodbine. The event will begin at 11 a.m. Late registration is at 10 a.m.; registration fee is $10. Refreshments and informative resources will be available post run. Rain date is April 16. 2. Super Hero Comics Weekend
Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10
Music Pier, Boardwalk & Moorlyn Terrace, Ocean City
During this weekend devoted to the comics, visitors will be able to meet the creators of super heroes and comic book characters at the Music Pier. Stop by Sunday at 2 p.m. to participate in or see a Cosplay (costume contest). Event begins on Saturday, April 9 at 9 a.m. with a one mile Super Hero Run followed by a Super Hero Obstacle Dash at noon. Contestants are encouraged to compete in Super Hero costumes. 3. Girls Weekend
Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10
Asbury Avenue between 6th and 14th Streets, Ocean City
Downtown Asbury Avenue and the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a new event, Girls Weekend, scheduled on Asbury Avenue between 6th and 14th Streets. Enjoy dining offers, spa specials, shopping discounts, yoga and wellness classes, craft projects, hotel and B&B packages and more.

4. Spring In Tuckahoe Craftsmen & Home Event
Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10 at 10 a.m.
Upper Township Community Center, 1790 Rt. 50, Upper Township
The Spring in Tuckahoe Craftsmen & Home Event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. This two-day event will feature an Art & Craft Show, a Spring Home Event and networking companies all under one roof. Over 80 vendors are expected to participate. Visitors will find wood furniture, doll clothes, pet treats, ceramics, fiber arts, photography, outdoor furnishings, watercolors, spring wreaths, hand crafted jewelry and country crafts. Direct sale companies and Home Show companies will be on hand offering savings on hundreds of products and services. This event offers free shopping bags, great food, giveaways and more. General admission is $2 or free with a pet food donation. All pet food donations are being collected for Animal Rescues. 5. 1st Dennis Township Community Day
Sunday, April 10 at 10 a.m.
Dennis Township Elementary School, 165 Academy Rd., Dennisville
The Dennis Township School PTA along with Dennis Township Education Association Pride and the Municipal Alliance Committees is pleased to present its 1st Dennis Township Community Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This very special day will be focusing on bringing the community together. All proceeds raised will be used to provide anti-bullying programs for Dennis Township School District. The day will kick off with a 3K Color Run at 12 noon that is open to the entire community followed by an inflatable obstacle course provided by the DTEA Pride committee. Both events will promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together. After the race, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy music, face painting, food, a magician-balloon artist and much more.
