35-foot Christmas Tree Arrives at Congress Hall for Tree Lighting Ceremony

CAPE MAY – The holidays are fast approaching, and nothing symbolizes that more than the arrival of Congress Hall’s Christmas tree. The tree is the center piece of the annual Winter Wonderland celebration, a well-loved and time honored tradition. The tree is decorated in preparation for the official Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 2, which has become a favorite holiday event for residents and visitors. This year’s tree is a 35-foot Douglass Fir, which was donated by the Riccio Family of Cape May Court House. On Friday, Nov. 18, crews cut down the tree from the family’s yard and transported it to Congress Hall’s Grand Lawn, where it was then hoisted.
