PARADES
All across Cape May County, resort and mainland communities plan to hold parades to honor the 240th anniversary of our nation’s independence. Celebrate our independence at one of the Fourth of July parades below!
Avalon
When: Monday, July 4 at 11 a.m.
Where: From the Main Channel at Avalon Yacht Club
Avalon’s popular Boat Parade will feature dozens of boats decorated for the holiday. Boats must register at Avalon Community Hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. prior to the parade. There is no fee to participate in the parade. Boats will meet at 10:45 a.m. that morning.

Cape May
When: Saturday, July 2 at 1 p.m.
Where: Beach Ave. from Philadelphia Ave. to Patterson Ave., with the reviewing stand near Convention Hall
Cape May is honored to have Captain Owen Gibbons, new Commanding Officer U.S. Coast Guard Tracen Cape May, as the Grand Marshal of the parade. The parade will feature string bands along with many other outstanding performing groups, family entries, autos, veteran organizations and local officials.

North Wildwood
When: Monday, July 4 at 9 a.m.
Where: Atlantic Ave. north to 1st & Surf Aves.
Parade check in will be from 8:15 a.m. at 9th & Atlantic Aves. before the parade at 9 a.m. Prizes awarded will be awarded for the best decorated bikes in red, white and blue theme. Patriotic pooches will also join the parade, with check in at 8:15 a.m. at Bill Henfey Park, 8th and Atlantic Aves. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed pooches. No rain date.

Gardens Civic Association Bike Parade
When: Monday, July 4 at 10 a.m.
Where: Starts at the Longport Bridge parking lot
Sponsored by the Gardens Civic Association. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Longport Bridge parking lot. Parade begins at 10 a.m.

Upper Township

Where: Commonwealth Ave. at Willard Rd. (blinker light), proceeding to Prescott Rd. and west to Bayview Dr. to the Deauville Inn
Parade registration will take place at the Strathmere Firehouse, 5 S. Commonwealth Ave., at 9:30 a.m. Judging will be held at 10 a.m. before the parade. After the parade at the Deauville Inn, refreshments will be provided and prizes will be awarded.
