Outdoors at the Shore: Baseball

What would Independence Day be without playing America’s favorite pastime? Baseball coined the term back in the early twentieth century when it was the most highly played sport in the country. Today, it still reigns as one of the top sports in the nation. Just as you cannot have Fourth of July without stars and stripes, baseball would not be baseball without bats and balls. There are many different types to suit each player’s needs.

A baseball diamond can be set up anywhere from a field to an empty lot to the beach and beyond. Sluggers of all ages and genders can enjoy participating in this competitive yet fun sport. Check out your local recreation department for information on leagues, camps and games near you. Batter up!
