Slither & Snore Sleepover at the Zoo

Kids ages 6 years and older – bring your sleeping bag and an adult! This is a great chance for the kids, big and small, to get up close and personal with their favorite animals and experience the Zoo after hours. Guests will enjoy a special nocturnal tour of the Zoo, games, special photo ops, movies and an ice cream sundae bar. Plus, sleep near the snakes, turtles, skinks, alligators, lizards and frogs. “Detectives Holmes and Carter,” ELTC’s radio-style production, features two new mysteries back-to-back on the same night: “Sherlock Holmes’ Adventure of the Red-Headed League” and “Nick Carter and the Voice of Crime,” the second ever Carter radio mystery from 1943, used with permission by Conde Nast. 4th Annual Sole-Man 5K Run for Character & Memorial Walk

The Soleman Run for Character is dedicated to raising funds to support the Gene Sole Scholarship Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the memory of USMC Lieutenant Colonel Gene Sole, who was also Principal of Richard M. Teitelman Middle School. The 2015 Memorial Walk supports the Love of Linda Foundation in honor of those whose lives have been touched by cancer. Historic Cold Spring Village’s Candlelight Walk

Step back in time for a lovely autumn evening when the Friends of Historic Cold Spring Village host the annual Candlelight Walk from 6 to 8 p.m. Luminaries will line the paths and guide you to several of the Village’s restored historic buildings where wine, beer and a variety of light fare will be served. Featured local favorites include the Flight Deck Diner, Cold Spring Grange Restaurant, Formica Brothers Bakery, Gaiss’ Market, Erma Deli, West Side Market, Little Italy II and Gwen Raring Catering. Support is also being provided by ACME, Shoprite and Seashore Food. Guests will also enjoy desserts, live musical entertainment and hot beverages at the Village Pavilion. In this slide show program, Pat will relate her fascination with owls and convey the excitement of searching for, understanding and enjoying these elusive and mysterious nocturnal predators.
