East Lynne Theater Company Presents “Strictly Dishonorable”

“Strictly Dishonorable” opened on Broadway to rave reviews in 1929, and ELTC presents it 86 years later from Sept. 23 – Oct. 17. An innocent Southern belle and her fiancé from West Orange, NJ step into a Manhattan speakeasy where they encounter its gracious manager and his employees, a clever judge and a worldly Italian opera star. This sophisticated comedy by Preston Sturges explores the conflict between playing it safe and expanding one’s horizons. By the end of 1929, Sturges was writing for Paramount, and soon after also directing his own films which include “The Great McGinty,” “The Lady Eve,” and “Sullivan’s Travels.” Tickets are $25, $15 for students and free for veterans and children ages 12 and under. 2nd Annual Middle Township Restaurant Week

The Middle Township Economic Development Council, in conjunction with the Herald newspaper group, will hold the 2nd Annual Restaurant Week in Middle Township from September 21 – September 26. During Restaurant Week, restaurants will offer discounts on full course meals while smaller eating establishments may offer discounted specials. Boardwalk Classic Car Auction

Irish Fall Festival

The largest Irish Festival on the East Coast celebrating Irish heritage with dancing, music, food and craft vendors along Olde New Jersey Avenue and surrounding pubs in North Wildwood. 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Biking and Brews By the Bay

Where: Cape May Lewes Ferry Terminal, 1200 Lincoln Boulevard, Lower Township
Join us for an interesting day of low impact biking. Not a serious biker? That’s good because beach-cruisers are the preferred mode of transportation for this tour, a tour that is perfect for anyone interested in natural scenery, World War II history and local craft brews. Meet up with Nature Center tour guides for a relaxing boat ride over to Lewes. Once on the “other” side, we’ll take in the sights and history of Cape Henlopen, Gordon’s Pond Trail, the famous Dogfish Brewery in Rehoboth Beach and Junction & Breakwater “Rail-to-Trail.” By 6:30 p.m., we’ll head over to the Lewes Ferry terminal and hitch a ride back home across the Bay. Expect to cover approximately 25 miles throughout the day with frequent stops. Bring your own bike or bike rentals can be arranged. A wide brimmed hat, long sleeves, sun block and water bottle are recommended. Pack refreshments and lunch, or bring money for our stops at the ferry terminals, breweries and local eateries. Historic Cold Spring Village’s Paranormal Research
Saturday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Historic Cold Spring Village, 720 U.S. 9, Cape May
Paranormal research events will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Welcome Center with an introduction to ghost-hunting etiquette and equipment, and an overview of the history of paranormal activity at the Village. Guests will then be escorted in groups to several sites throughout the Village where researchers will allow guests to assist with the research using digital photography and sound recording equipment. During the Ice Cream Parlor research, guests will enjoy a complimentary ice cream cone. After the investigation, guests will return to the Welcome Center to discuss their findings. Tickets to each evening of paranormal research are $40 each and must be purchased in advance. Past paranormal research events have all sold out!
