This past Sunday evening, Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Water Parks opened Raging Waters Water Park to 250 furry friends for a puppy pool party. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Morey’s Piers’ 3rd annual Gone to the Dogs event allowed dogs to paddle along the river adventure, play in the fountain pool and fetch tennis balls in the activity pool. All proceeds from admission are to go to New Jersey SPCA.
Kari and Pat Burns, dog owners of GiGi, explained that this was their first time attending the event, and they thought it was “awesome, entertaining and something different.” They loved that they were able to speak with other dog owners and the dogs were all able to interact. They also shared that they always try to support dog benefits.
To add to the fun, Morey’s held a doggie bathing suit contest at the event, where the dogs got to strut their stuff and show off their best beachwear to the judges. Although the competition was tough, Pepper came out on top for the second year in a row, wearing an octopus costume provided by dog owner Janette Chelhowski.
“This event has become one of our most popular events of the year, so it is no surprise that we had such a great turnout once again. All of our furry friends seemed to enjoy taking over Raging Waters and splashing around the water park,” said Maggie Warner, public relations manager at Morey’s Piers. “This was truly a great community event and we thank Cape Veterinary Hospital and our local PetSmart store for attending and showing their support.”
