Cape May Stage, a premier professional not-for-profit Equity theatre, is focused on yet another captivating, record-breaking season. The 2019 season opens May 22nd with Heisenberg by Simon Stephens. One of the most produced plays in the U.S. in 2018, Heisenberg is a funny and surprising play about a chance encounter between a reserved, Irish older gentleman and a rowdy, younger woman from New Jersey who slingshots herself into his life. Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, Georgie spots Alex, a much older man, and plants a kiss on his neck. This electric encounter thrusts these two strangers into a fascinating and life-changing game.
Directing Heisenberg is Award-winning director, actor, and Producing Artistic Director Roy Steinberg. Steinberg says “ Cape May Stage aspires to entertain you while you are provoked with new experiences.” “Heisenberg is an unpredictable witty romantic play that is the perfect way to launch our season because our theme for the 2019 is the element of surprise.”
Making his Cape May Stage debut playing Alex, an inhibited, retirement-age Irishman is Beau Allen. Beau has been on Broadway in Jesus Christ Superstar, Two Gentlemen Of Verona, and The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. He played Shredder in The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Coming Out Of Their Shells Tour at Radio City Music Hall before touring internationally. Beau recently played Off-Broadway in the premier of a Tennessee Williams’ one act play The Recluse And His Guest, one of two one acts presented as Tennessee Williams, 1982.
