WheatonArts kicks off the spring season with the new Wheaton Springs 2019 event on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees can experience the arts and cultures of East Asia with special performances and craft demonstrations in the Event Center, explore the new exhibits with guided tours, create unique glass-fused magnets, discover the art of papermaking, ceramic wheel-throwing, and glassblowing with Asian themed demonstrations, and more! During this event, admission to all WheatonArts exhibits and Artist Studio demonstrations are free and open to the public, part of “Family Days! Presented by PNC Arts Alive!”
Wheaton Springs 2019 highlights include: special tours of the new Emanation 2019 exhibition in the Museum of American Glass. A Dragon and Lion Dance leading attendees to the “Spring Festival: Asian New Year Celebrations” in the Event Center where Asian dance and musical performances will take place, along with a variety of traditional Asian craft demonstrations. Guided tours along the WheatonArts Nature Trail with CU Naturalist, Jane Galetto. The creation of a large-scale glass Chinese lantern in the Glass Studio. Asian pottery demonstrations and kiln tours in the Pottery Studio. Attendees can also pre-register to create glass-fused magnets in the Education Studio. Call to register at 856-825-6800 ext. 152.
