Dr. Anna Hand: Pioneering Woman in Victorian Medicine, with Dory Coe Cape May’s first female physician, Dr. Anna Hand, (who was a protégé of Cape May’s Dr. Emlen Physick) gives you an overview of the state of Victorian medicine and the challenges she faced as a pioneering woman in medicine. Dory Coe will portray Dr. Anna Hand in this interpretative presentation. Cape May United Methodist Church, 635 Washington St., Cape May. Presentation begins at noon. The West Cape May Environmental Commission hosts a Free Pizza and Family Movie Night at the West Cape May Borough Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 22nd.

Join your neighbors, friends and family for an adventurous movie with a friendly message of the importance of our natural environment. The computer animated comedy takes on the importance of natural environment and the real threat of extinction. It is rated G.

There will be an environmentally friendly craft for kids to make before the movie. West Cape May Borough Hall is located at 732 Broadway, West Cape May. Composting Geo Bins will be available for purchase at each event.

Joseph Martin’s Music for the Master

Cape May Court House First United Methodist Church at 1 Church Street, will be hosting Joseph Martin’s Music for the Master with a free Friday night concert at 7:30 pm March 22 and a Saturday March 23 Choral Reading session and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Martin, world renowned composer, conductor and concert pianist plans beginning the concert with Come to the Music a driving joyful anthem that has sold 800,000 copies.

The sacred choral Christian concert tell the life of Christ using portions from five of Martin’s major works and 15 of Martin’s near 3,000 anthems.  The seminar provides a spiritual, professional and educational platform for choral directors, music teachers, vocalist and persons interested in music with a target audience of the 8 most Southern New Jersey County churches, schools, two-year colleges, and our two universities Rowan and Stockton.
