Coast Guard Sunset Parades

Sunset Parades are colorful, inspiring military ceremonies free and open to the public, featuring the Recruit Precision Drill Team, marching troops and cannon fire. Aug. 4 celebrates Coast Guard Day, with guests seated by 7:20 p.m., an estimated start time of 7:38 p.m. and a sunset of 8:08 p.m. Visitors should expect increased security screening for the event, and guests are not permitted to bring bags of any kind to the seating area. Photography is permitted and encouraged, but cameras must be removed from their bags prior to arriving at the seating area. For more information, call (609) 898-6362.
6th Annual Craft Beer & Crab Festival
Saturday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m.
Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., Cape May
This all-day festival features local craft beers to wash down favorite summer picnic foods such as steamed crabs, crab cakes, steamed shrimp, pulled pork and more. Enjoy live music all day on the outdoor stage. Have fun with jugglers and acrobats, crafts and food vendors, a farmers’ market and more. There will be a charge for food, beverages and some activities. Bring home a commemorative pint glass or T-shirt. Presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC). National Lighthouse Day at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

Come celebrate 200-plus years of great lighthouse heritage, the founding of the U.S. Lighthouse service, and the contributions they have made to provide safety and guidance to ships at sea. FREE admission to the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse tours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A formal ceremony will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with a keynote speaker. In addition, there will be other distinguished guest speakers, music, authors, artists, food, special exhibits and a children’s activity area.
