Bring a bag lunch and learn during this winter’s Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Lunch and Learn series — 11 informative talks on popular topics of history, culture, science and the arts at noon on Wednesdays through March 30. Come to the Carriage House on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate for these informative talks that are free for MAC members and $5 for non-members. Admission includes beverages. U.S. Futsal Northeast Regional Championship

The Futsal tournament is an action-packed, international form of indoor soccer. Teams consist of various age brackets and include a total of over 2,000 players from around the world. Prizes will be awarded to winning teams and top players as well. Games will be held 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. Times are subject to change depending on number of teams. Admission is $10 per day or $20 for all four days. Children 8 and under are free. Wristbands will be available for purchase at the door. Polar Bear Plunge Costume Contest

Get in the spirit of Plunge Day by competing in the annual Polar Bear Costume Contest at noon. Each contestant will take center stage to showcase their costume during the contest. Hopeful contestants may download the application ahead of time at www.lacosta-seaisle.com or register the day of the event at 10 a.m. under the main tent. Contestants are reminded to keep all costumes tasteful; the event organizers reserve the right to deny entry to the contest. Only registered Plunge participants will be permitted to compete in the costume contest. There will be local vendors selling merchandise in the registration tent as well as a bounce house and face painter in the parking lot to the west of La Costa (weather permitting).

Sea Isle City 23rd Annual Polar Bear Plunge
Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.
40th Street Beach, Sea Isle City
Day-of registrations and preregistration pickup for the Plunge will take place on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the tent outside of LaCosta. Plungers will also be able to check-in on Friday at LaCosta from noon to 9 p.m. The cost of the plunge is $25 and plungers must be 12 years of age and older. All registered plungers will receive a wristband and a commemorative T-shirt (while supplies last). Live entertainment will be provided all weekend at LaCosta. The Fralinger String Band and the 2017 Polar Bear Royal Family will lead plungers down to the beach. The 2017 Polar Bear Plunge will start at 2 p.m. After plungers experience a frigid taste of the Atlantic Ocean, LaCosta will host the Costume Contest awards ceremony at 4 p.m. under the main tent.
8th Annual Jimmy Simcox Memorial Fundraiser
