WILDWOODS – The Wildwoods Hydrofest Committee announced today that the New Jersey Governor’s Cup Hydrofest scheduled for October 3 and 4 in Wildwood Crest has been cancelled and the event will no longer take place.
The announcement, made by Hydrofest Event Coordinator Ann Fitzgerald, came after the committee determined that the reconfiguration of the streets and parks along the Sunset Lake bay area impacted the venue to the degree that a successful staging of the event was not feasible. It was also determined by the committee that the area no longer logistically lends itself to accommodate the number of competing boats race teams, equipment and vendors.
“It is with sincere disappointment the Committee must make this decision. We wish to thank the thousands of event fans for their enthusiasm along with our sponsors and the countless volunteers whose dedication contributed to the success of the event,” explained Fitzgerald.
