The annual Boardwalk Basketball Classic returns to the Wildwoods Convention Center Wednesday, Dec. 26 through Monday, Dec. 31, featuring an impressive lineup of high school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams from NJ, PA, NY, DE, MD and VA totaling approximately 1,000 competitors.
Returning to this year’s annual holiday basketball tournament will be an additional day of competition on Saturday, Dec. 22 beginning at 11 a.m., with the Crest Savings Bank Battle of the Boards, which will feature games comprised of select area and out-of-area boys and girls high school basketball teams. The full tournament will kick off on Wednesday, Dec. 26 for six days of exciting non-stop action.
The Boardwalk Basketball Classic Tournament was founded in 2001 and continues to be the largest single-venue coed high school holiday basketball tournament in the United States. Since its inception, the tournament has raised nearly $300,000 in college scholarship money for graduating seniors at Wildwood and Wildwood Catholic high schools, the two host schools of the event. The tournament is run by an all-volunteer board that solicits sponsorships, ticket sales and other support.
Select games throughout the tournament will be broadcasted on 98.7 The Coast radio. For further information about the tournament, including the complete schedule, past results, tournament records and ticket information, visit www.bbclassic.com.
