What’s New in the Wildwoods for 2017

THE WILDWOODS – As summer quickly approaches, the Wildwoods once again have added new attractions, activities and eateries for the 2017 season; and have planned an event-filled summer of fun in the sun with all of your favorite rides and attractions ready to enjoy.

NEW Events:

Cinco de Mayo Festival will be held on Saturday, May 6 along Pacific Avenue between Garfield and Spicer Avenues in Wildwood. This authentic family festival will feature crafts, games, great food and continuous FREE live entertainment from noon to 10 p.m. For more information, call (609) 287-3044.

Murder Mystery Weekend will be held on Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20. Enjoy a weekend of “Who Done It” in the Wildwoods! The event includes a ticket to the Welcome Party & Old Fashioned Drive-In Movie for a night under the stars watching a fun 1950s era movie; a breakfast ticket for a complete breakfast at choice of selected restaurants; a dinner ticket for a three-course dinner at choice of selected restaurants; and a ticket to the Murder Mystery Show & Sock Hop, where you’ll stroll back in time to the local school gymnasium to solve the mystery of ‘Who Killed Peggy Sue at the Hop.’ Event goers will be able to dance to some of the great sounds of the ‘50s and ‘60s and will receive a case file for a scavenger hunt. The Slammedenuff NJ Car Show on Sunday, June 11 will feature customized road legal air suspension cars from the mid-1990s to brand new at the Wildwoods Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Meet new people that share the same interest as you in upgrading your ride in the way that expresses yourself! Morey’s Piers’ Art & Music Festival takes over Adventure Pier on Father’s Day Weekend. From Saturday, June 17 to Sunday, June 18, meet local artists, listen to live bands and enjoy some delicious food, as art and music collide in an authentic space. Wildwoods Restaurant Week is adding a third week in 2017! Byrne Plaza – Located on Pacific Avenue, between Oak and Cedar Avenues in Wildwood, a new park named ‘Byrne Plaza’ will host numerous events and festivals throughout the year, including Music in the Plaza and Fitness in the Plaza. The park will feature a concert shell for performances and plenty of space for events such as the Downtown Wildwood Farmer’s Market and the Downtown Wildwood Market Place. “VIP Behind the Scenes Tour” – This summer, Morey’s Piers takes guests behind the scenes to explore the inner workings of the amusement and water parks. Between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend guests can book a “VIP Behind the Scenes Tour” to learn what it goes into maintaining and operating an amusement park with over 100 rides and attractions.
