The Borough of West Cape May celebrates its farming heritage with the Annual Lima Bean Festival in the Borough’s Backyard Park (732 Broadway, behind the Fire House) on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, October 8, 2023.
West Cape May was once the lima bean capital of the world and this autumn tradition of celebrating the lima bean harvest has turned into a much-loved quirky community event. Locals and visitors alike are sure to delight in the vast array of recipes, crafts, and products available from the festival vendors. There will be live music starting at 9:30 a.m. and a magic act from local magician, Loudini, from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Be sure to stop by and enjoy all the event has to offer, and be on the lookout for the Borough’s Lima Bean Mascot, who will be photo ready for attendees to pose with.
Proceeds from the event benefit the West Cape May Shade Tree Commission in their endeavor to maintain the tree canopy of West Cape May and the beauty of Wilbraham Park.
