West Cape May Honors its Vital Agricultural Heritage with the Annual Strawberry Festival

Annually, West Cape May holds many festivals in Wilbraham Park that celebrate the fruits of the harvest. The first festival of the season is the Strawberry Festival, which takes place on Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sponsored by the West Cape May Business Association, the Strawberry Festival has become an eagerly anticipated event each spring. The star of the day is – you guessed it – the local, Jersey strawberry. Prepare for strawberries abound in both edible and non-edible form!

Enjoy entertainment, crafts and food including plenty of strawberries throughout the day. Dieters beware – you won’t be able resist the ultimate strawberry shortcake, everyone’s favorite part of the day. Additionally, a sweet reign will be established as the new Strawberry Queen and King are crowned at the end of the day.

The strawberry season is only about two to three weeks, so be sure to stop by West Cape May’s Strawberry Festival and gulp down as many South Jersey strawberries as you can!

Wilbraham Park is located on the corner of Perry Street and Broadway in West Cape May. The rain date for the Strawberry Festival is Sunday, June 5. For more information, contact Diane Flanegan at (609) 884-9325.
