WCM African American Historical Society First Annual Community Recognition Dinner

The West Cape May African American Historical Society is pleased to announce its first Annual Community Recognition Dinner Reception.

One of our missions is to recognize and preserve the history of African American families and business owners in the West Cape May community as far back as the early 1800s.

Whether you are a year round, recent resident, summer homeowner or visitor, we invite you to join us on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Willow Creek Winery, 160-168 Stevens St., West Cape May, as we honor the history of West Cape May and recognize our 2017 community recipients. Cost is a $50 donation. Contact Vivian Wright Lockett for additional information and tickets at (609) 241-5353 or viviannlockett@gmail.com.

Tying in with our mission, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) will host the Underground Railroad Trolley Tour on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost is $15 per person; seating is limited. Tour leaves from and returns to the Emlen Physick Estate. Contact Vivian Wright Lockett for reservations and prepayment at (609) 241-5353 or viviannlockett@gmail.com.
