Upcoming Events at Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

Join the Friends of Cape May NWR at any or all of the following late winter/ early spring events. Unless otherwise specified, these events are free and will take place at the Two Mile Beach Unit at 12001 Pacific Ave (Ocean Dr), Wildwood Crest. For more information or directions, please call 609-513-9349. Heavy rain or snow will cancel outdoor events.

-Every Saturday in March: “Fitness Nature Walk,” 2-3 p.m., starting at the Visitor Contact Station. Get out of the house and get moving! Approximate distance 2 miles at a steady but relaxed pace. We stop occasionally to take a look around!
– March 11: Part Two of the “Places to Stand” storytelling program. 6:30 p.m. Those who attended session one should call first to register; there are openings for new participants. Call to register.
– March 15: “Walk When the Moon is Full” Family Walk. 6:30-8 p.m. Night time at the Refuge is a special time to share with family and friends. Bundle up and bring all your senses. Meet at the Visitor Contact Station. The walk will be approx. one mile or less, depending on weather.
– March 20: “Third Thursday Plein Air Outdoor Painting Workshop.” 12:30-3:30. With local artist Janet McShain. For beginners or advanced. Donation: $5. Some materials will be available to borrow. Call to pre-register please
