Town Bank Fire Company Brings Oktoberfest to Lower Township

CAPE MAY AIRPORT — Get out your lederhosen and be ready to raise a glass and yell prost! Oktoberfest, hosted by Town Bank Fire Company, will return to the Cape May County Airport Oct. 17 – 19.

Oktoberfest will feature a variety of seasonal beers, live music, food, crafters and family entertainment.

Cape May Brewery will provide the official Oktoberfest beer for the weekend. The brewery will serve that beer along with a second option from its tasting room in the airport.

The event will also feature live music all weekend. On Fri., starting at 4 p.m. Animal House will take the stage until 9 p.m. On Sat., beginning at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sound Wave will be on stage. Then at 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Riot will keep the crowd dancing. Loud and Clear will be on stage from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On Sun., the music continues with DAB from noon to 3 p.m.

New to this year’s Oktoberfest is a pumpkin carving competition dubbed the Great Cape May Carve. On Sat., beginning at 4 p.m. teams can compete to create unique jack-o-lanterns using the provided giant pumpkins. There will be prizes awarded in various categories. Visitors to the carving competition will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite pumpkin, and the winners will be announced Saturday at 9 p.m. For an application to participate in the carve visit capemaybrewery.com

This is the third year the Town Bank Fire Company has organized the popular fall event, which they use as an annual fundraiser. A $5 donation, which benefits the fire company, is suggested to enter the event.
