40th Annual Boys and Girls Surf Fishing Tournament

Where: Longport Bridge Parking Lot, Ocean City
9:00am – 12:00pm at the north end beach adjacent to the Ocean City/Longport Bridge. Registration: 9:00am – 10:00am in the Longport bridge parking lot. Fishing from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Parental supervision required, participants must bring their own bait. Age groups: 8-10, 11-13, 14-16. Awards for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place for each age group. Historic Cold Spring Village Hands-on History Weekend
Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th from 10 a.m. to 4:30p.m.
Where: Historic Cold Spring Village, 720 Shore Road, Cape May
Two days of family-friendly, interactive and educational fun are planned for Historic Cold Spring Village’s ‘Hands-on History’ Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 8-9, from 10am to 4:30pm. Children will be given a ‘Pastport’ at the start of their Village trip, which can be stamped at the buildings they visit after completing a take-home craft or activity, like writing with a quill pen, carding wool or making a pinch pot. Pastports can be redeemed at the Country Store for a free treat! The Family Activity Area will feature children’s dress-up clothes, historic games, and take-home crafts. Other family-friendly activities include face painting and live entertainment from traditional musician Mary Roth.

Fourth Annual Kids Carnival

This free event will be held from 1 to 5 pm with free food, fun, games, gifts for all, and music by DJ Jazmann, along with ponies Cupcake & Cookie from Ponies by Priscilla. There will be face painting, a dunk tank, Kona water ice truck, with free food, drinks, and gifts for all the children. Special guests will include: McGruff crime dog, Eddie Eagle Scout, Explorers Team, PRAC of Southern New Jersey, K-9 Unit (and a horse) from the Sheriff’s Department, 253 Cape May County National Guard, and the Chick-Fil-A mascot. Wear your bathing suit and bring a towel—prepare to get wet on the water slides!
Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series – Big House

The Borough of Wildwood Crest has planned its largest Summer Music Series schedule to date.
A total of 29 evenings of live musical entertainment for the entire family are on tap in the eighth annual Wildwood Crest Free Summer Music Series, which is set to begin next week. Live music will be held at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday and Saturday from June 24 through Sept. 5 at the entertainment pavilion at Centennial Park, located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue.
