Princesses and Pirates Luncheon

Young buccaneers and little maidens are invited to the Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., for a pirate- and princess-themed luncheon. 16th Annual 5K Beach Run/1K Walk
Friday, July 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Pavilion – JFK Blvd & the beach, Sea Isle City
The Cape May County Bar Foundation is holding its 16th Annual 5K Beach Run/1K Walk on Friday, July 18, 2014 on the Beach in Sea Isle City. In-person registration begins at 5:00 p.m. at the Pavilion at JFK Blvd. and the beach. The race will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be prizes for the top finishers in each category. Fee-$20 for walkers and runners age 14 & under; and $25 for all other runners. You can also register online at: www.cmcba.org. Rain date, July 19th.
Annual Chip Miller Surf Fest
Saturday, July 19th from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: 7th St. beach, 7th street, Ocean City
Chip Miller Surf Fest – Decade old grass roots family surf contest to raise money and awareness for the rare and deadly disease Amyloidosis. Registration begins at 7:00am on 7th St. beach. Fee: $30, contest begins at 8:00am. For more information call: 609-231-1562.
5th Annual Cape May Volleyball Tournament
Saturday, July 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Where: Beachfront – Beach Ave, Cape May
The Cape May’s 5th Annual Volleyball tournament held on the Cape May beachfront and is open to the public. The levels of play consist of beginner through pro (men’s and women’s) with a chance to win cash and prizes after tournament results for the day. The public is invited join the City of Cape May for a fun day on the beach while watching one of the beaches most exciting action sport. Last year, local Jimmy Walls won the pro division while several other local players placed second and third place, with over 49 teams participating in the event.
Art and Antique Show Hosted by West Cape May
Saturday, July 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Wilbraham Park – West Cape May
West Cape May will hold two art & antique shows in Wilbraham Park this summer. The first is July 19 (with a raindate of July 20), which benefits the West Cape May PTA. The second is Aug. 16 (with a raindate of Aug. 17), which benefits the West Cape May History Committee. Both shows feature art and antiques only. Cape May Crab Cake Company will also be there.
The artists must be present to sell their works and many will be demonstrating on site. Some of the artists featured this year are photographer Chris Peck, oil painter Rich Flanegan, woodturner Betty Campbell and many more. Enjoy the beautiful Wilbraham Park at the intersections of Broadway and Sunset in West Cape May, meet and greet the artists and antique dealers and maybe come home with a treasure!
Historic Cold Spring Village’s ‘Hands-on History’ Weekend
Saturday, July 19th through Sunday, July 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Historic Cold Spring Village – 720 Rte 9, Cold Spring
Two days of family-friendly, interactive and educational fun are planned for Historic Cold Spring Village’s ‘Hands-on History’ Weekend, July 19-20, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Children will be given a ‘Pastport’ at the start of their Village trip, which can be stamped at the buildings they visit after completing a take-home craft or activity, like writing with a quill pen, carding wool or making a pinch pot. Pastports can be redeemed at the Country Store for a free treat! The Family Activity Area will feature children’s dress-up clothes, historic games, and take-home crafts including corn husk dolls. Other family-friendly activities include nursery rhymes with Mother Goose, a seek and find, and live entertainment from traditional musician Mary Roth. This jam-packed family-fun weekend event is sponsored by PNC.
NJ State Crab Festival

51st Annual Cape May Captain Kidd Treasure Hunt
Sunday, July 20th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Cape May Promenade at Cape May Convention Hall, Cape May
Ahoy Matey! The adventurous Captain Kidd has set sail for Historic Cape May in hopes of arriving July 20, 2014 for the 51st Annual Cape May Captain Kidd Treasure Hunt to be held on the beaches of the nation’s oldest seashore resort.
Youngsters are invited to rendezvous with Captain Will Kidd on the Cape May Promenade, at Cape May Convention Hall, on July 20 at 1 p.m. Lucky treasure seekers will follow Captain Kidd to the secret site between Perry and Congress Street beaches in search of the elusive buried treasure.
