With the arrival of December, so comes a host of holiday-themed, family events and concerts. Here are some of this weekend’s highlights!

Lower Township Chamber of Commerce 7th Annual Hospitality Night
Friday, December 6th from 5 to 8 pm
Participating businesses have a green & white ribbon outside the building. Visit the businesses between the hours of 5 & 8 pm. Collect a ticket from each business then report to the Lower Township Recreation Center at 2600 Bayshore Rd, Villas and place your ticket in the drawing pots. Christmas Tree Lighting
Friday, December 6th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Where: Hereford Inlet Lighthouse – 111 N Central Ave, Wildwood

Wildwood Holiday Houses Tour
Friday, December 6th from 6 to 9 pm
Open House Tours of Wildwood Civic Clubhouse ( J. Thompson Baker National Historical House), Lutheran Church of Holy Trinity, Holly Beach Bed & Breakfast, Candlelight Inn Bed & Breakfast, Summer Nites Bed & Breakfast, Enchantras Bed & Breakfast, featuring Glenwood Elementary School Chorus, Wildwood High School Choir. Tree of Life Celebration
*The Tree of Life Celebration has been postponed due to inclement weather. It has been rescheduled for next Friday, Dec. 13 at 6-8 p.m. The live auction will be held at 8 p.m.

The Tree of Life Celebration hosted by the Middle Township Chamber of Commerce will be held Dec. 6, 6 – 8 pm, in the old fire house on Boyd Street in Cape May Court House. The Tree of Life celebrates the tradition of helping local public service organizations. Proceeds from the sale of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses benefit Cape Assist, Holy Redeemer Hospice and the United Way of Cape May County. Businesses and organizations create the holiday spirit of giving by their sponsorships. Door prizes and more! A live auction will be held at 8 pm. Christmas Concert

The Mainland Choral Society (community chorus), “Dedicated to Musical Excellence”, will present an American Christmas on Friday, December 6 at 8 pm at Christ Church, Shore Rd & Meyran Ave in Somers Point. The 25th Anniversary Christmas Concert will feature a mixture of American composers, traditional music, and popular classics of the 20th century. 27th Annual Crafts at Christmas

Santa Paws
Saturday, December 7th from 10 am to 1 pm
Where: Humane Society of Ocean City – 1 Shelter Rd, Ocean City

Holiday Craft Show
Saturday-Sunday, December 7th & 8th from 10 am to 4 pm
Where: Sheep Farm – Hands Mill Rd, Belleplain
The 21st annual Holiday Craft Show at the sheep farm on Hands Mill Rd. in Belleplain will be held on Dec. 7th and 8th.A select group of artisans will be selling quality crafts in a truly “ewenique” setting. Artists include Sam Moyer, broommaker, Patti Heisler, basketmaker, and Joe Mattson, glassblower. Other handcrafted items available for sale include a variety of jewelry, soaps, lotions and wooden cutting boards.

Christmas Around the World Celebration
Saturday, December 7th from 1 to 3 pm
Where: Emeritus at Cape May – 591 Rt 9, Cape May Court House
Emeritus at Cape May is a hosting a Christmas Around the World Celebration Dec. 7 from 1-3 p.m. Come experience the aroma and sounds of Christmas around the World throughout our community. The countries are displayed either with food, attire, music decorations and or stories. Emeritus at Cape May is also a designated Toys for Tots drop off locations. Christmas at the Farm
Saturday, December 7th from 6 to 9 pm
Where: Bready Farms – 81 Route 49, Tuckahoe

The Ocean City Pops Presents Christmas Selections
Sunday, December 8th from 3 to 5 pm
Where: The Levoy Theatre – 130 N High St, Millville
William Scheible, the first chair trumpeter, became the Pops’ Artistic Director in 1987. He continues to hold this post and has made the ensemble the highly respected orchestra that it is today. Looking back on his 26 years as artistic director, Scheible can be proud of the growth and extension he has brought to the orchestra. Under his direction, the Pops have received numerous grants to foster youth outreach programs and bring professional artists from around the United States to entertain Ocean City audiences. He has also arranged for the orchestra to perform out of state and took the Pops on its first international tour to Bermuda in 1996. Scheible’s dedication to the Pops and Ocean City is evident each concert season as he presents programs with a variety of classical as well as popular music and continues the tradition to feature professional and aspiring vocal and instrumentalists

Angelus Chorus Concert
Sunday, December 8th from 7 to 8 pm
Where: Maris Stella Catholic Church – 5012 Dune Ave, Avalon
All are invited to hear a concert that includes both sacred and secular music. We are celebrating 49 years of singing in Cape May County this season having started as a small group of volunteers to sing in nursing homes. Today we number close to 75 members from all walks of life who enjoy singing. Please let us greet you and wish you the happiest and healthiest of holidays with our music.
