The Mummers return to the Wildwoods on Friday, September 8 and Saturday, September 9 to celebrate New Year’s in North Wildwood.
The weekend kicks off at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 8 with a “STRUT” Dance Contest on Olde New Jersey Avenue. Watch as the captains square off and show their skills while the Mummers Association plays your favorite music. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes.
Fifteen String Bands, including the top bands from the 2023 New Year’s Day Parade in Philadelphia, PA, will be featured as the Mummers New Year’s in North Wildwood Parade steps off on Saturday, September 9 at 3 p.m., at 2nd & Olde New Jersey Avenues in North Wildwood. Fox 29 news personality Bob Kelly will return to emcee the event for his third year. String bands will perform without the pressure of competition, and spectators will be able to get up-close views of the beautiful costumes and intricate dance steps these eccentric performers display.
