The Rusty Nail has the distinction of being one of Travel & Leisure’s Pick for America’s Top 10 Beach Bars. “The Nail” is a low-key restaurant with the longest bar in Cape May, and a convenient location right across from the beach. The no-reservations policy encourages spontaneity and that doesn’t deter the crowds—a mix of surfers, locals, and visitors. Pull up to the communal picnic tables and chat with your neighbors, or find a seat around the cozy outdoor fire pit while your kids play in the sand bar. Besides the many beers on tap here (both local and international), add the Conch Fritters and a bucket of steamed Clams and Mussels to the list of dishes you should not miss. Not only are dogs welcome at the Rusty Nail, but special dog-friendly menus are available, including Doggy Beer, our Doggie Bowl and All-Natural Pup Treats.
