Legendary performers will once again grace the stage at Cape May Convention Hall in the Cape May Summer Concert Series. The Lettermen kick off the concert series with their signature harmonies on Sunday, July 9, at 8 pm.
Known for soft, romantic hits, The Lettermen have recorded over 75 albums, earning eleven gold records and five Grammy nominations. The group released its debut single, “That’s My Desire,” in 1961, but it was the B-side of the record, “The Way You Look Tonight,” that was requested repeatedly by enthusiastic radio listeners. The surprise hit reached Number 13 on the Billboard chart, and the group’s next single, “When I Fall In Love,” was even more popular, reaching Number 7 on the charts.
A string of hits followed, including “Theme From a Summer Place,” “Hurt So Bad,” and the medley, “Goin’ Out of My Head/ Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” which became a Top 10 hit. Baritone Donovan Tea and tenors Bobby Poynton and Rob Gulack delight audiences with the unique three-part harmony that defines The Lettermen’s sound and stands the test of time.
The show will take place at Cape May Convention Hall, 714 Beach Avenue in Cape May, New Jersey. Tickets for all Summer Concert Series shows are $50 plus tax. Online orders are also subject to a service fee. Tickets can be purchased in person at Cape May Convention Hall or online at CapeMayCity.com.
