The John R. Elliott HERO Campaign Hosts 9th Annual HERO Walk & 5K Run on Ocean City Boardwalk

The John R. Elliott HERO Campaign will host its 9th Annual HERO Walk & 5K Run on Sunday, October 20 at the Ocean City Sports and Civic Center, located at 6th Street and the Boardwalk. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The competitive 5K Boardwalk Run begins at 9:30 a.m., with prizes for men and women in various age groups. The HERO Walk follows at 11 a.m. Proceeds from the event support the HERO Campaign and its mission to promote designated driving. Sponsors included AtlantiCare, Stockton University, OceanFirst Bank, Miss Night in Venice Pageant, Kramer Beverage, Foster-Karney Foundation, Viking Yachts, Clear Channel Outdoor, Iron Workers Local 399, Jane French, Dallas & Di Krapf, Team Matt Uhl and Tishman Construction – AECOM Technology.

In addition to the walk and run, supporters take the HERO Pledge to be and use designated drivers, and enjoy music, face painting and balloon sculptures for the kids.
