The Brooklyn Bridge Entertains the Jersey Shore in the Cape May Summer Concert Series July 18

The Brooklyn Bridge has performed at every major concert venue, including Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall. On Wednesday, July 18, the award-winning ensemble adds Cape May to their list of venues, as they perform in the City’s Summer Concert Series. The show will be held at Cape May Convention Hall, 714 Beach Ave. in Cape May, beginning at 8 p.m.

Best known for their hit, “The Worst That Could Happen,” The Brooklyn Bridge was formed in New York in 1968. The ensemble has shared the stage with a range of legendary entertainers, from Billy Joel to the Beach Boys, and from Tony Bennett to Steppenwolf. Each of the members of The Brooklyn Bridge brings a wealth of experience and talent to the group. Vocalist Les Cauchi, an original member of the group, is also a member of The Del-Satins, the group that recorded the background vocals for songs such as “Run Around Sue” and “Ruby Baby.” Bass player and vocalist James Rosica and vocalist Joe Ruvio, also original members of the group, join Cauchi onstage.

Drummer Louis Agiesta toured with the cast of “Jesus Christ Superstar” before joining the band in the 1970s, along with James Sarle on lead guitar and Martin D’Amico, who plays keyboards and provides vocals. Lead vocalist Joe “Bean” Esposito is a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter who has collaborated with artists ranging from Donna Summer to Laura Branigan, and from Aretha Franklin to Stephen Stills. He is also known for his performances of “You’re the Best,” in the 1984 film “The Karate Kid,” and “Lady, Lady, Lady,” featured on the soundtracks of both “Flashdance” and the Oscar-nominated “Call Me By Your Name.”

The band’s smooth vocals and powerful stage presence made them a favorite on many television shows, including “The Ed Sullivan Show,” “The Mike Douglas Show” and “The Della Reese Show.” In 2005, The Brooklyn Bridge was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
