Thanksgiving to “Noon Year” Events at the Avalon Free Public Library


It’s the most wonderful time of year, and from Thanksgiving weekend all the way through to a “Noon Year” celebration, the Avalon Free Public Library and History Center features a number of programs for all ages. Story Time with Mrs. Claus
A very festive storytime! Celebrate the start of the Christmas season with Mrs. Claus – holiday stories, songs, and a craft for the kids.

1 p.m.
Monday Matinee “Chef Flynn”
Synopsis: Ten-year-old Flynn transforms his living room into a supper club using his classmates as line cooks. With sudden fame, Flynn outgrows his bedroom kitchen, and sets out to challenge the hierarchy of the culinary world. Documentary- this film is not rated. Titles subject to change due to availability.

Avalon Historical Society Annual Holiday Party
Enjoy food & refreshments, music, good company, and good cheer at this open house!

Art Workshop: Ceramics Painting
Participants will choose from a variety of ceramics to paint. Registration is required by calling 609-967-7155 or stop by the circulation desk. Avalon property owners may register beginning November 9. All others may register beginning November 23.

Holiday Songs with the Fiddle Club
Join us for music to celebrate the holidays. Students and professional musicians from the Music Studio in Linwood will perform traditional Celtic Christmas songs.

Happy Noon Year!
Our youngest patrons are invited to help us ring in the “Noon” year with a story, snacks, fun, and a puppet show!

The Avalon Library received 5 stars in Library Journal’s national rating of public libraries, based on statistical performance data collected by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  The Avalon Library has received the 5-Star designation eleven times since 2009.
