KC and the Sunshine Band will make their Ocean City debut with a concert to help kick off the summer season on Memorial Day Weekend. The band will perform on the Ocean City Music Pier on Sunday, May 28.
Generations of fans have danced to hit singles including “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight,” “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty” and “Boogie Shoes.” The band fuses Caribbean, R&B and funk music with the singular purpose of “creating instant happiness through music.” The show promises to get people up and out of their seats in a spectacular start to summer in Ocean City.
From four No. 1 hits in one 12-month period in the 1970s to the release of the recent blockbuster film theme “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” KC and the Sunshine Band has had as much fun making music as its fans have listening to it.
The tentative date for the start of ticket sales is 9 a.m. Thursday, March 2. Tickets are $75 and will be available at oceancityvacation.com/boxoffice, by calling (609) 399-6111, or in-person at the City Hall Welcome Center or the Roy Gillian Welcome Center on the Route 52 causeway.
