St. Barnabas to Hold Tuba-Piano Concert April 9

St. Barnabas by-the-Bay Episcopal Church’s Winter Concert Series continues Sunday, April 9 at 13 W. Bates Ave., Villas, at 3 p.m.

The concert features two accomplished young talents, Kelly Henderson, senior at Lower Cape May Regional High School playing tuba, and Cristina Loscutova, junior at Rowan University on piano. If you haven’t heard tuba concert music, you are in for a pleasant surprise!

Kelly is a member of her school’s many bands and choirs. She placed in Region III Honors Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Brass Quintet and Atlantic Cape Honors Band. She also played with the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble. Currently a member of the Congress Street Brass Band, Kelly is president of Tri-M Music Honor Society, Concert Choir secretary and Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook.

Kelly is excited that she has received a full scholarship from Rowan University where she will share her passion for music with Cristina.

Cristina came to the U.S. from Moldova to pursue a degree in music. She has delighted audiences in Cape May County in the past with her virtuosic playing.

Admission is free and open to the public. Freewill offerings will be appreciated and refreshments will follow the performance.
