“Senior Jamboree” Set for May 11

What: a celebration of Older Americans Month with free lunch, singing, and dancing 

When: Thursday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Where: Avalon Community Center, 30th Street and the Beach Avalon 

In celebration of Older Americans Month, the Cape May County Division of Aging & Disability Services will host the annual Senior Jamboree.  

The theme for 2023 is “Western Jamboree” – this event will be held at the in Avalon Community Center, 30th Street and the Beach Avalon on Thursday May 11. The doors open promptly at 10:00 A.M. and close at 2:00 P.M. All residents of Cape May County 60 and older are welcome to attend.  

“Senior of the Year” (male and female), as well as “Organization of the Year” will be recognized and honored. There will be music, dancing, and a fabulous free lunch. Students from Wildwood Catholic High School will assist the staff with serving lunch. They have also been known to perform and dance with our seniors.  

Feel free to put on your cowboy hat and dress up in your favorite country western attire while two-stepping the day away.
