Sea Turtles are Getting Their Own Event in New Jersey

Country music artist Allie Colleen and Harrah’s Resort have joined forces to create a benefit concert for Sea Turtle Recovery. Open just over one year, Sea Turtle Recovery (STR) has already rehabilitated and released 20 endangered and threatened sea turtles back into the wild, and they are the only long-term hospital in New Jersey for sea turtles. Now, with 11 turtles currently in rehabilitation, this nonprofit is thrilled to receive a helping hand to save sea turtles.

Sea Turtle Recovery operates from a donated building inside the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo where they rehabilitate sea turtles for their release back into the wild. From a rescue with the Coast Guard off the coast of Cape May to taking animals in from Sandy Hook, this New Jersey group is sure to benefit from this summer concert event.

This benefit concert will be held on July 16 at 7 p.m. at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. Tickets are available at www.seaturtlerecovery.org and www.ticketmaster.com.
