Rootstock combines beautiful vineyard ambiance and intimate performance by world-class musicians
Spend Friday evenings at Hawk Haven Vineyard where there is a feast for the senses in great music, award-winning wine and eclectic food truck cuisine against the backdrop of a stunning vineyard sunset.
On Friday Aug. 7, Jeffrey Gaines, a singer-songwriter and guitarist, will take the Rootstock stage. Gaines received critical acclaim for his confessional lyrics and rough-edged voice. Rolling Stone Magazine called Gaines, “one of pop’s finest singers, Jeffrey Gaines is the voice of a new generation.”
Born in Harrisburg, Pa., Gaines studied drawing, but became interested in singing as a teen taking his cue from John Lennon, David Bowie, Ray Davies and Elvis Costello. His cover of Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” received heavy radio play and put him on the map as an artist to watch.
Mark your calendars for the Aug. 7 concert featuring Gaines and his soulful sounds, the Aug. 21 concert featuring rhythm and blues singer-song writer John Beacher and the September 4 finale of the Rootsock music series. Sunset vineyard tour sets out at 5:30 p.m. followed by live music 7- 9:30 p.m.
Rootstock tickets are $5, sunset vineyard tour is additional $12 and are available at the Hawk Haven tasting room, located at 600 South Railroad Avenue, or online at brownpapertickets.com/profile/1116310. Tickets will also be available the day of the event. Grab a seat at one of our picnic tables or kick back on a blanket beside the vines. The show is about to start!
