Rio Station Introduces Organic Wines

RIO GRANDE – While the Wine Shop at the Rio Station has offered organic wines for some time, with an increasing interest in healthy eating and drinking, the Rio Station is focusing on a line of organic wines from a variety of producers.

One such variety includes both a red and a white from Purato Wines. The red comes from the black grape Nero d’avala in Sicily, and the white is a blend of Catarratto and Pinot Grigio.

“With the Purato wines, we bottle exactly what Mother Nature has given us – there is nothing added and nothing taken away. The results are immediately recognizable in the taste of the wine, which has a complete purity of fruit, totally unadulterated by any chemicals or man-made pesticides,” said a company spokesperson.

The Wine Shop in the Rio Station is open from 11 a.m. every day offering fine wines, beer and liquors. For case pricing, questions about wine or help with your selections, email sommelier Ric Rutherford at wine@riostation.com.

The Rio Station is located just outside of the Grande Center Mall at Rt. 9 & 47, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night seven days a week starting at 7:30 a.m.
