Cape May 9/11 Patriot Day Ceremony

Saturday, September 11, 2021 6:15 p.m.

The Kiwanis Club of Cape May in conjunction with the City of Cape May honors the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center , the Pentagon and aboard Flight 93.

The PATRIOT DAY commemoration ceremony held at Beach Avenue at the Cove is a solemn and moving ceremony with speakers from local organizations along with community leaders who remind us of the sacrifice of Police, Fire and Emergency Medical technicians who valiantly struggled that day to save lives. There is a moment of silence as the flag is lowered. An event not to miss!


Wildwood September 11th Remembrance Ceremony – 20th Anniversary

On September 11th at 10:30 am, a solemn September 11, 2001 Remembrance Ceremony will take place at Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Avenue in Downtown Wildwood.

Organized by the Wildwood Business Improvement District for the past several years, the ceremony will honor and remember our fellow Americans who were killed on that tragic day, as well as the first responders who have died over the past 20 years due to 9/11 related illnesses.

Parking is always Free for Byrne Plaza Events in the parking lots behind the shops; on the east side of Pacific Avenue, between Oak and Schellenger Avenues, and on the west side of Pacific, between Oak and Wildwood Avenues. Step to Remember: 9/11 Fundraiser

Saturday, September 11, 2021 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The 9/11 Step to Remember Fundraiser challenges participants to climb 110 stories of the World Trade Center just like the 343 Firefighters did 20 years ago. Proceeds will benefit the Travis Manion Foundation, Tuesdays Children, the Wounded Warrior Project, and Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Middle Township 9/11 Anniversary Event

The township will be honoring our local Police Department, Emergency Medical Services and Fire Districts, as well as honor several first responders from Middle Township who traveled to NYC in 2001 to answer the call for assistance in the aftermath of 9/11. Located at the Ockie Wisting Recreation Complex in Rio Grande.


Stone Harbor 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

The Borough of Stone Harbor will hold a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday, 9/11 @ 11am at Freedom Park. Special guests will include Robert “Woody” Vassallo a New York Firefighter from Engine 68 who was called into duty after retiring to help with the recovery effort at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and more. Stone Harbor 9/11 Memorial 5K

The Borough of Stone Harbor is calling upon it’s citizens to come together and commemorate the 20th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11 with a 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk. We will salute those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and run with their memories in our hearts. The race will start at First Ave and 96th, just a block away from Freedom Park, where a piece of the wreckage stands as an everlasting tribute. Please join us back at Freedom Park after the race (approx. 10:30) for a Memorial Ceremony. The race will start at 8:46 am, the time that the first tower was struck.

“A Day to Remember” will include music, prayer and reflections on the memory of lives lost and on the community spirit that was renewed in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.
