Quilt & Fiber Arts Show

Historic Cold Spring Village is proud to present the 31st annual Cape May Quilt and Fiber Show on Saturday and Sunday, June 26-27. Sponsored by Chris Clemans Sotheby’s International Realty, the event will be held from 11am until 4:00pm both days featuring the Viewer’s Choice quilt show, speakers, demonstrations, and vendors.

Saturday visitors may vote for their favorite quilts at the Viewer’s Choice Quilt Show located in the museum’s Welcome Center and/or and vote on their favorite Barn Block entry at the Cold Spring Brewery. The show continues Sunday allowing visitors to enjoy the display and view the winning quilts.

At 1pm on Saturday and Sunday, Kathleen Lindsey, a founding member of the Seven Quilts for Seven Sisters, will present her collection of memorabilia at the Gazebo. Kat’s presentation depicts various experiences in her life including lifelong stories and events pieced together in an imaginary quilt. On Saturday at 2pm, author and quilt teacher Janellea Macbeth will present “Finish the Darn Quilt.” Throughout the weekend, enjoy watching Erin Lewis’ dyeing and spinning demonstrations. Embroiderer’s Guild of American, Jersey Cape Atlantic Chapter, Quilts of Valor, South Shore Stitcher’s and Ryan’s Cases for Smiles will also be demonstrating their skills. A c.1714 antique wedding quilt, handmade by Cape May Countian Sarah Spicer, will be on display Sunday. The quilt was restored in 2012 through a grant from the Cape May County Culture and Heritage Commission. A HCSV staff member will discuss the restoration process and care of your textiles at home. While visiting the Village, be sure to shop for quilting and sewing fabrics, supplies, candles, hand woven items and equipment from regional vendors and create your own heirloom project.

In addition to all things quilts, visit the Country Store, enjoy the goodies from the Village Bakery, indulge your sweet tooth at the Ice Cream Parlor, experience a taste of the Village ‘s home brewed craft beer at the Cold Spring Brewery, hot dogs extraordinaire at the Village Eatery or delicious lunch or dinner from the Cold Spring Grange Restaurant.
