CAPE MAY – See phantoms, specters, gremlins and goblins during “Phantoms of the Physick Estate” at Cape May’s “original haunted house,” the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., part of Cape May’s Halloween Happenings during October. Halloween Happenings features scary and intriguing tours, events and activities that might just test your mettle and have you doubting the line between the living and the dead.
Events include: Phantoms of the Physick Estate daytime and evening tours, Séance at the Physick Estate, A Walk with the Ghost Writer, Cape Mayhem Trolley Tours, Ghosts of the Lighthouse Trolley Tours, Ghosts of Cape May Trolley Tours, Murder Mystery Dinners, a macabre Tea & Confessions series including Lizzie Borden, Typhoid Mary and the Bride of Frankenstein, Historic Haunts Tours, and Trick or Treat at the Physick Estate, as well as a free exhibit of Dept. 56 Halloween collectibles on the porch of the Physick Estate daily.
A special feature of Halloween Happenings is Scarecrow Alley at the Physick Estate, now through Oct. 31, featuring dozens of scary, silly and clever scarecrows created by members of the community, decorating the grounds of the Physick Estate. Vote for your favorite or decorate your own.
