Partners In Preservation Fifth Annual Holiday Tour of B&Bs, Churches & More in Wildwood

On Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m., Partners In Preservation will host the fifth annual Holiday Tour of B&Bs, churches and the George F. Boyer Museum in Wildwood. This is a great way to start the holiday season. Each location is different, and even if you have visited before, you may find something new – especially at the museum! Sit down and go through the many scrapbooks on entertainers, “Boardwalk history,” parks and even fires on the island. Maybe you will find your house or a family member.

Just a half a block from the museum is Holly Beach B&B. This English style B&B has a beautiful model train and village to delight all ages. First Baptist Church, one of Wildwood’s oldest churches, was started as a carousel and features beautiful woodwork and windows. New on the tour this year is Sea Gypsy B&B, a restored Victorian B&B for a romantic getaway or the whole family with rooms, suites and apartments available. St. Simeon’s by-the-Sea Church, originally located at Pacific and Maple avenues, exhibits beautiful stained glass windows, which were moved to the new location at 2500 Central Ave. when it was built. This church has the oldest pipe organ in the county. Avair House and Tea Room is where the old meets the new. Partners In Preservation with East Lynne Theater Company hosts Victorian Tales and Tea on the wrap around porch every summer. Candlelight Inn is another restored Victorian B&B with many original furniture pieces, but all the modern conveniences. Summer Nites has a new twist. Here, you go back in time with 50s décor, right down to the diner-like kitchen. See Elvis and Marilyn Monroe rooms, plus many more.

Start your tour at any site. A wrist band will be provided for a $10 donation collected at the first stop, and is good for all locations. Children 12 and under are free.
