Held annually in Munich, Germany by Bavarian culture, Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival and traveling funfair. The 16-day festival features beer brewed within the city limits of Munich, traditional German foods and a mixture of attractions such as amusement rides and games.
Lucky for those of us who can’t make it to Germany for Oktoberfest, cities throughout Cape May County are holding their own versions of Oktoberfest!
Cape May – Oktoberfest on Historic Jackson Street – POSTPONED UNTIL SUNDAY, OCT. 4
When: Saturday, October 3, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Rain Date October 4
Where: Historic Jackson Street from Carpenter Lane to Beach Avenue
Celebrate the famous Bavarian tradition on Historic Jackson Street as it is transformed into a German promenade with authentic music and food. Avalon – 5th Annual Oktoberfest Block Party – CANCELED
When: Saturday, October 3, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Where: The Whitebrier & Princeton 20th Street Parking Lot
This Oktoberfest block party features live German music, a beer garden, German food, arts and crafts, entertainment and games for the kids, and shopping. Local businesses will be represented along with authentic German food vendors. The 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament begins at 12 p.m., and live entertainment begins at 1 p.m. $10 entry to the beer garden includes a commemorative beer stein and a donation to Friend In Need. Sea Isle City – Octoberfest

Where: Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard
