Join in the festivities Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on National Lighthouse Day at the Cape May Lighthouse, Cape May Point State Park, 215 Lighthouse Ave., Lower Township (near Cape May Point).
Climb the 199 steps to the top of this majestic beacon and experience the beautiful view. Learn about the role of the lighthouse keeper and the history of this historic 1859 beacon, still in operation today, fully restored by MAC. Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be in attendance telling about their role in the history and operation of the Lighthouse. See critters from the Cape May County Zoo from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Enjoy free activities for kids, live music and craft vendors.
Admission to the grounds is free; admission to climb is $8 for adults; kids climb free this year on National Lighthouse Day!
