Morey’s Piers’ Ocean Oasis Waterpark Goes to the Dogs

Wildwoods, NJ (August 22, 2013) – Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Waterparks, located on the boardwalk of Wildwoods, NJ, is ending the dog days of summer with a splash…or better yet a “doggie paddle.” On Monday, September 2 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Morey’s Piers’ Ocean Oasis Waterpark is opening its gates for the first time to dogs offering free admission for canines and $10 admission for owners and spectators, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the New Jersey SPCA.

That evening, water bowls and free doggy treats will be stationed throughout Ocean Oasis Waterpark for dogs to recharge as they paddle around the endless river or cool off in the puddle pool. Seasonal favorites, lively libations, and homemade treats will be available for purchase when the Soggy Dollar Beach Bar transforms into the “Soggy Collar” Beach Bar offering special menus for both puppy companions and four-legged friends to enjoy while taking in the open-air ocean views and live entertainment. A variety of tail-wagging activities are scheduled including a doggie swimsuit competition starting at 7:00pm. Each dog will receive a Morey’s Piers’ souvenir Frisbee to take home.

“For many people, pets are members of the family,” said Jack Morey, second-generation partner of Morey’s Piers. “So before we close the waterpark for the season, we thought it would be fun to invite the furriest members of the family to come in and splash around.”

To participate, owners must pre-register their dogs and purchase tickets at www.moreyspiers.com/gonetothedogs by August 30. “Morey’s Piers Gone to the Dogs” event is open to the first 150 dogs to sign up; animals cannot be registered onsite. Admission is $10 for adults; dogs and children under the age of 12 get in free. Dogs are only permitted at Ocean Oasis Waterpark on Monday, September 2, 2013, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older and leashed at all times except while in the water.
