The Miss New Jersey Pageant will be held in Ocean City for the 22nd consecutive year in 2018, and the pageant includes four days of events. The winner of the pageant will be crowned on Saturday evening (June 16) and move on the represent New Jersey in the Miss America Pageant on Sept. 5 to 9 in Atlantic City.
The public can get a glimpse of all 28 Miss New Jersey contestants during a free parade that starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday (June 13) and proceeds from Sixth Street to 14th Street on the Ocean City Boardwalk. This year’s theme is “Women in History,” and the contestants will be dressed accordingly. In a longstanding pageant tradition, they also will “show their shoes.” The parade also includes marching bands, entertainers, community groups and local business entries.
Pageant preliminary competitions will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday (June 14 and 15) on the Ocean City Music Pier.
Reigning Miss New Jersey Kaitlyn Schoeffel (who was second runner-up in the Miss America Pageant) will crown her successor at the conclusion of the pageant finale at the Music Pier at 7 p.m. Saturday. Action News 6-ABC weather anchor Karen Rogers will host the pageant all three nights.
