WILDWOOD – Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. will participate in the inaugural broadcast of an innovative radio program that will air live from this city’s world-famous Boardwalk. The ground-breaking event will take place Sun., May 17 from 10 a.m. until noon and will be broadcast live on 98.7 The Coast.
The state-of-the-art broadcast venue is located on the Boardwalk at Spencer Avenue. The broadcast booth is completely surrounded by glass, thereby allowing visitors a clear view of what’s happening inside the booth as well as allowing interaction between fans and Buddy Tarbotton, the show’s host.
As part of the first broadcast, Troiano is scheduled to discuss the history of Wildwood, its Boardwalk, amusements, tram cars, nightlife and other famous amenities. Scheduled to appear with Troiano is Douglas Hunsberger, a writer and photographer who has documented the history of this seaside city.
“This is going to be a fun event,” said Troiano. “People can come up and participate in person with their family and friends.”
