Mark Your Calendar for Ocean City’s Spring Special Events

March 12 – Mr. Mature America
The world’s only pageant for men 55 years and up is set for Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. The pageant emphasizes the relevance and contributions of our Senior Citizens. Contestants compete in talent, poise and interview segments. Entry in the contest is free. Special guests include the Gospel Choir of St. James AME Church, Miss Senior America, Blues Legend Bubba Mac and TV anchor Dick Sheeran. March 19 – The Great Egg Hunt
At 2:30 p.m. from 11th to 14th Street Beach, join five age groups in searching for 100,000 eggs. 5,000 eggs have prizes! The rain date is March 20. For more information, call 1-800-BEACH-NJ.

March 26 –Woof ‘N Paws Pet Fashion Show
Dress your pets in their Easter Best! The fashion show begins at 11 a.m. at Carey Stadium, 6th St. off Boardwalk. For more information, call (609) 399-6111.

April 9-10 – Girls Weekend
It’s time to put yourself first Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10 during Girls Weekend at Downtown Asbury Avenue between 6th and 14th Sts. April 16 – Doo Dah Parade
Say goodbye to the tax season with a comedy parade featuring 500 Basset Hounds plus comical brigades and costumed characters. Parade starts at noon at 6th and Asbury Ave., proceeds to 12th St., then up to the Boardwalk and ends at the Music Pier where PieAsco is held. Folks sit in grandstands and smoosh each other with shaving cream pies, the kind Soupy Sales used on his syndicated TV shows. Event is a tribute to Soupy and all legendary comedians. May 5 – Martin Z. Mollusk Day
Weather-predicting hermit crab Martin Z. Mollusk ventures onto the beach opposite the Music Pier at Moorlyn Terrace at 11 a.m. If he sees his shadow, summer comes a week early to this family resort. All rejoice by singing Martin’s theme song “Some Enchanted Morning.”

May 14 – Spring Block Party
